Looking out for community
I just want to piggyback off the post about looking out for each other because this beach really is a special place…..
It’s kind of magical in a way that’s hard to explain, and I think a lot of us go there because it feels like a little escape where people can just be themselves. This summer has def had more cops, fighting, and issues than usual since I started going to the beach years ago, and I think it’s worth being a little more thoughtful about how we share the space. Last night I happened to come across a Reddit thread from someone actively recruiting strangers and sharing the location with basically anyone who asks. There’s nothing wrong with new people finding the beach, but I do think there’s a difference between welcoming someone who you think will respect the space and just passing the location around freely. I am not one to post on here and I don’t share this to try and gate-keep. That being said, please, be mindful about who you invite.
We keep us safe ❤️
