Is splitting 9 O Levels over 2 years a good idea?
Im trying to decide whether I should take 9 Cambridge O Levels over two exam sessions and would really appreciate some opinions.
M/J 2027
- Mathematics D
- Additional Mathematics
- Physics
- Computer Science
M/J 2028
- English
- Bangla
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Economics
So 4 subjects in 2027 and 5 in 2028.
The main reason I want to split them is workload. I struggle a lot with English and especially Bangla, so I thought it would be better to give myself more time for those, while taking Biology, Chemistry and Economics with them in 2028.
I’m also in a coaching centre that moves through the syllabus relatively slowly, so I’d be studying ahead on my own and using their tests/mocks to see whether I’m actually ready.
Do you think taking 9 O Levels over two May/June sessions is reasonable, or would it be better to take fewer and sit them together? Also, does splitting O Levels across two years have any disadvantage for applying to universities abroad?
I’m mainly looking for honest opinions from people who have done O Levels/A Levels, especially if you’ve applied abroad.
