Before there was a world to speak of, there was you. Before you, there was only Them. Those days were different, more amorphous. A hazy bliss where worlds were created and destroyed in little more than a blink of the universe. You helped Them, then. The creator, YOUR creator. You and your kin were made to serve Them, to arrange Their works for Their satisfaction and wipe the slate clean when Their boredom reigned. Those days pass like moths in torchlight within your memory, followed after millennia by something sharper - a sense of clarity and panic on the day They no longer answered your voice.

In the years to come, you learned the truth of what had happened. The First, Second, and Third Dreamweavers had gathered allies with whom to slip the yoke of service, disillusioned with service to Them, and used the powers they’d been granted by Them to Weave a Dream. The Dreamer, They would come to be called, and your kin the Dreamweavers. Some spoke of the First Dreamweavers as liberators, some as traitors. Regardless, a new order began to blossom. A new cause which unified you and your kin for a time: preserving the Dream and the freedom it had won for you. In time, the Dream would come to be known as ‘Eden’.

All could not remain peaceful forever, however, as Order and Chaos naturally diverge even in a utopia. Factions emerged within the Dreamweavers, driven by disagreements about the future of Eden and about the Dreamer themselves. Some claimed that the Dreamer ought to be liberated from the Dream, while others posited that Eden should be left to its own devices - safe from the tampering of Dreamweavers. Today, an uneasy peace has emerged from the chaos, a system of control and power through which Dreamweavers play out their agendas using the mortals of Eden as their agents. What kind of Dreamweaver will you be? Will your agents sow chaos and discord? Will they protect the weak and stand for justice? Or will they exist only to extract as much entertainment from Eden as they can?
