Getting change at the drive-thru

I still pay cash when I pay at a drive-thru, and this has driven me nuts for years. They hand you the paper change and then set the coins on top of the bills, and the coins slide off onto the ground. Then you have to drive off to avoid getting out of your vehicle or look like a cheapskate hunting for change on the ground under your car.
