Travel with F-1 and pending asylum status

I know this sounds like a repeat of several questions where the answer is advised that if you’re a visa overstay + pending asylum, do not fly.

I wanted to ask to any lawyers or any who’s in the same boat in this reddit -
if I still have valid legal f-1 status (on opt) and a pending asylum case, is it safe(r) for me to travel?
