Why? Is a “cooldown” period necessary?

I received an expensive item, ram, second time, shipped in a bubble mailer no protection. $800 order in a bubble mailer, they could afforded to protect the item a little bit. Not even card board to stiffen mailer up. I now have to hope its not bad. They sell a lot of ram so i would like to warn other buyers.
