Clarification on Location of Conrad Delta/New Tremredare (possible typo in World Guide)
I think there is a typo in the World guide that confuses the location of the Conrad Delta and New Tremredare. Can y'all help me decipher this? The world guide on page 189 says the Conrad Delta is filled with ruins from the "Southern Dominance" of the Final Empire. I think this is likely a typo, and they meant "Eastern Dominance" and likely got confused because the Conrad Delta is close to the Southern Roughs of Era 2.
The map of Era 1 on pp. 38-39 makes it clear that the Southern Dominance is actually north of the Southern Sea. The Eastern Dominance is actually more southern than the Southern Dominance. Importantly, the Eastern Dominance clearly overlaps with the Sothern Roughs of Era 2 when you line up Era 1 and 2 maps.
The Conrad Delta is very clearly immediately south of the Sea of Lennes, which is itself South of the Sea of Yomend (Era 2 name)/Southern Sea (Era 1 name), which is south of the Southern Dominance from Era 1. Therefore, I think it is impossible for the Conrad Delta to have ruins from the Southern Dominance, but I think it could have ruins from the Eastern Dominance, assuming the Eastern Dominance curves further south then is shown on the map from pp. 38-39.
The only 2 justifications I can see for the Conrad Delta having ruins from the Southern Domiance are these:
-
There were some geographical shenanigans we don't fully understand when Harmony remade Scadrial.
-
The Southern Dominance from Era 1 was actually huge, and divided into two by the Sea of Yomend/Southern Sea and the Sea of Lennes. So the Southern dominance would have had stretches of land in both the north and south of these seas. But I don't think we have any officially published map that could confirm this if true.
I think the typo is more likely. Can I get any help from any Cosmere experts, or any Brotherwise lurkers? I have big plans for New Tremredare in a planned homebrew follow-up to Mistborn Legacy and lore accuracy is important to me.
Thanks!
