Are we actually judging regional rappers fairly if we don't understand their bars?
Hindi ke alawa kisi regional language mein rap karna, especially jab audience largely Hindi speaking ya hindi belt se ho, is already a big task. Kudos to every artist jo apni regional language ko national platform pe represent kar raha
But honestly, mujhe lagta hai MTV is not doing enough justice to regional artists on the show, ( even in previous seasons) in this season particularly - akshat, mridul even raja babu for instance
Aaj maine dekha kaafi log complain kar rahe the ki Akshat ko 20 mein se 17 hi kyun mile, especially because of the fumble. Okay like Fair enough, fumble hua tha lekin , uske alawa poora track fire tha. Uske Lyrics genuinely deep the aur Rajasthan ki culture aur references se heavily rooted the. Jo maybe without translation nahi samjh ayenge logon ko
( But bhaktaa ko bhi 17 diye without fumble??? - are bhai those are two different things, if judges have issues with song structuring, and they want proper songs, instead of giving artistic liberty then ye judgement ka fault hai)
It's not like Akshay deserved less then 17, it more about bhaktaa deserve more then 17, but ispe kuch log akshat ko hate kar rahe, like come on
Mera suggestion hai ki MTV Hustle ko regional artists ke tracks ke saath English translation along with usual subtitles provide dene chahiye
Otherwise, even the really good regional writing gets underappreciated, cause simply the audience will never understand the thought jo track ke peeche laga hai
So thing is,agar audience ko lyrics ka actual depth hi samajh nahi aayega, toh regional artist ko judge karna naturally difficult ho jaye, even EPR had hard time judging someone rapping in other then hindi or english
