MMR vaccine and non-vax ped
Probably a silly question but I appreciate any insight. We are in a measles outbreak area and I am so stressed about my daughter getting measles. She is eligible for one year MMR vaccine in 2 weeks. I have an appointment with a ped office that is closer to the outbreak by miles but the office mandates all patients be up to date on vaccines. I also have an appt with a ped farther away from the outbreak by about 20 miles but allows non vaccinated patients. My main concern is coming in contact at the office waiting room with someone contagious with measles.
Question is two fold, would you go to the office closer to the outbreak mandating vaccinated patients or farther away accepting all patients? AND if we were to encounter someone actively infectious with measles in the waiting room, since she is set to receive her MMR at this appt I believe that would fall into the CDC guidelines of post exposure recommendations? Any insight is very much appreciated. I am so anxious about all of this.
