Is this game a good singleplayer experience?

Never heard about this game till an hour ago when I saw some of my friends playing it, which got me wondering.
I've seen some reviews leaving it at 3.4 stars, but it looks like an air based raft or subnautica which were games I enjoyed somewhat. But they always felt, too lonely? Idk it just felt empty, which these games are kinda about ig.
I play on pc with controller as I never really got into keyboard with my shakey hands. So Ig do they also have good controls on controller?
