I used to know a girl who was like Maris from Frasier

The one fictional character who is supposed to be so outlandish and bizarre that they refused to even find an actress to play her and I know someone exactly like her, albeit the slightly less wealthy mid-Atlantic version

She was remarkably thin and admittedly attractive, and came from a somewhat wealthy family in PA. I think her dad owned a farm or something, I don't remember except that they had money. She was uptight, pompous, and cold. So fucking cold, so easily insulted and withholding. My poor friend ended up dating her. I recently learned that they are still together after thirteen years but unmarried and they don't even live together - this of course reminded me of Niles and Maris' living situation, where they slept in separate bedrooms. But these two live in separate states, and she has stated publicly that she loves her living situation. So in some ways she's even worse than Maris

Niles once said something about how Maris can go months without sex. This woman, too, only sleeps with her boyfriend once a year, if that. She is also into the arts and local theater scene, much like Maris, and is riddled with so many health conditions and allergies to the point that you'd think she was lying about some of them, which she may very well be. And she lies about her age, too. When we met she told me she was a year older than me. Some years later she claimed to be three years younger than I am

She and my friend rarely go out together because even if they make plans all it takes is one little snag to make her cancel at the last minute and stay home. I'm not sure where she lives but I know that she does not work and her family pays for everything

Whenever I do a Frasier rewatch I have to laugh extra hard at the Maris jokes because every single one reminds me so much of this girl. Even in this post there's a ton I'm leaving out, I should make a list or something. I don't know, I'm a little drunk and I was watching the Frasier ep where Niles thinks Maris is cheating with her fencing instructor and every single description of Maris just made me think of this peculiar woman

Anybody know anyone like this? Or just any bizarre characters in your life?
