Reddit can be a rough crowd, so I’m honestly a little terrified to post this. I’m not asking anyone to buy something out of pity. I could simply use a little kindness from strangers and some honest feedback.

I started my new business Oak and Spur because I was tired of Western clothing and home decor that felt cheesy, overly themed, or disconnected from the people who actually live this lifestyle. I want to show people that Western style can be authentic, elevated, modern, and still fun. My shop includes clothing, blankets, drinkware, desk accessories, home decor, and other pieces inspired by the life I genuinely live.
There is also a much more personal reason behind it.

My mom was an amazing human. My dad was killed in a farming accident when I was young so my mom and I were beyond close.

She was the most stylish,Kindest and most caring person I knew. And an interior designer, and decorating was something we always loved doing together. She died four years ago when I was only 26. Since then, I have had quite possibly the hardest four years of my life. I feel like I have barely had a chance to catch my breath. I have lost nearly everyone in my family who made me feel safe, and some of the family relationships that remain have been incredibly painful.

I am exhausted. I am worn out. I know hard seasons do not last forever, but lately I have really needed something hopeful and positive to hold onto.
Starting this shop has helped me believe that I can still love creating beautiful things, even if my mom is not here to do it with me. It is just me running everything, designing products, creating listings, learning TikTok Shop, making mistakes, and trying again.
I want my life to show other people that we really can do hard things. Not because it is easy or because we always feel strong, but because sometimes we keep going while completely exhausted and hope the strength catches up later.

If you have a minute, please just take a peek. You do not have to purchase anything. I would genuinely appreciate hearing what you like, what you would change, and whether my products feel authentic rather than cheesy.

Please be honest, but please also remember there is a real and very tired person behind the screen. A little kindness would mean more to me right now than you probably realize. ❤️ and here’s a pic of my mom and I, as well as some of my products I’m working on❤️
