Ranked experiences
Hey contestants!
This is my first post here. Until now, I've mostly just been reading everyone else's posts.
I started playing THE FINALS in Season 7, and I'm still playing to this day. I absolutely love this game. I have around 400 hours according to the in-game counter, and I started playing Ranked in Season 9.
I wanted to share my experiences and hear yours regarding the following. For context, I'm currently at around 29,000 RS, and I play exclusively solo queue.
Between 18,000 and 22,000 RS, there seems to be a pretty tough barrier. Your teammates are either bots or absolute gods. I spent almost an entire season stuck in that range because my RS was constantly going up and down.
Between 22,000 and 28,000 RS, things seem to hit a bit of a "sweet spot." Most players more or less know what they need to do, play as a team, fill a role, etc. Of course, you can still get some unpleasant surprises. But compared to the lower ranks, it's much easier to find reliable teammates.
And then we get to where I am now: the 30,000 RS barrier, which I haven't managed to break through yet. I keep getting close — 29,800, 29,600, etc. — but I still haven't crossed it. At the same time, I'm already getting matched with players around 30,000–35,000 RS.
Even though teammates generally seem more solid at this level, I still occasionally run into players who really surprise me. In fact, earlier today I played with someone at 34,000 RS, and I was honestly surprised they were that high because, in my opinion, their gameplay was significantly below what I expected from someone at that rating.
I'm definitely not a pro. I play to have fun and challenge myself. I know I'm probably getting close to my skill ceiling, but I'm curious to see how far I can go.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences. How was the climb for you, or how is it going so far?
P.S.: I'm using a translator because my English isn't very good, so sorry if anything sounds weird or isn't completely clear!
