Penelope is his home

Show Discussion

I have been reading On The Way To The Wedding (Gregory's book), and I just read a conversation between Lucy (her POV) and Hermione in chapter 12, page 213. Book Spoiler: >!Hermione and Richard (Lucy's brother) kissed in the orangery the night before Kate's ball; they are now engaged because Kate, Gregory, and Lucy caught them. Hermione used to think she was in love with Mr. Edmonds, but now she realizes she wasn't and that she loves Richard. Lucy and Gregory also kissed last night.!<

!Hermione- "I realized that I didn't understand before. With Mr. Edmonds- oh, I thought myself so violently in love with him, but I did not know what love was. He was so handsome, and he made me feel shy and excited, but I never longed to kiss him. I never looked at him and leaned in, not because I wanted to, but just because... because..." !<

!"Because it was where I belonged," Hermione finished softly.!<

And I realized this was the same thing for Show!Colin. Colin never really longed to kiss Marina. Marina initiated the kiss and leaned in first. And they didn't kiss because Colin stopped before they locked lips. Claiming it was improper, but really it didn't feel right.

When Penelope asked for a kiss, Colin realized he wanted to. He longed to kiss her, and when he did kiss her, he realized that's where he belongs. Penelope is his home. Like Hermione said earlier, in the same conversation, >!“Like I'd come home."!<

I just noticed a lot of similarities between Gregory's book and Show! Polin. Hermione is Gregory's Marina, and Lucy is Gregory's Penelope.

I did make a comparison video between the two kisses a long time ago: Spot The Difference Pt. 7.
