Is this a good way to ask someone out?

I think this is a good plan, but im just pretty anxious and want affirmation or advice.

To set the scene - I’m in grad school, we’re young people, college town.

Friday I went bar hopping with a big group, some friends, some new-to-me people in my friends’ program. I had some great conversations with a girl. Multiple times during the night talking one on one, a lot of the same interests. We were both asking each other questions to keep it going throughout the night. Short of it being explicitly super flirty, I feel like we hit it off.

That night I followed her Instagram, she followed back. My current plan- tomorrow on Sunday I’m gonna message her (I already waited a day) and say

“I had a lot of fun hanging out with you Friday!”

Then hopefully she responds. Then I’ll go

“You got any plans for Labor Day? There’s a movie-theatre movie I’ve been wanting to see about___, I’d love to see it with you if you’re free!”

I think that’s fine and normal — I don’t want to dump all that info in the first message, should let her respond first. Hopefully both those messages seem normal.

It’s also tough because maybe it’d be more natural to see her around later since we have mutual friends, but that’s not guaranteed and the time will tick by. So cool to DM and ask after just meeting her?
