3d printed craft able weapons
TLDR: my friend wants to make a mech designed to skirt around the edges of combat gathering resources and providing heavy supporting fire with disposable 3D printed weaponry, Is that at all possible or will anything not allow it?
This is for a buddy, I don’t know fuck shit about this game. He wants to make a mech that’s mobile and gathers resources and 3d prints different sets of weapons for different type of scenarios.
I like to think that I think tactically as long as what I’m calculating is balanced, but being able to come up with counters to anything seems pretty powerful unless there’s something holding you back. Like I feel like he would have to impose his characters rules onto other player like “nuh uh because I made a shield that counters that” and that would be fun for anyone. He also understand that wouldn’t be fun to just ‘nuh uh’ anyone but I don’t know what to recommend.
I want to help him tactically, I told him that IF his disposable weapon setup works that he would need to give up a lot of utilities.
- He would need to gather resources (again idk this game, I’m not sure if you have one set of rocks that you gather or different ones that do different things)
- Being 3d printed they can’t be too of the line best thing around so it would have to be something like wildly inaccurate or spam rapid fire with lowish damage. (High one shot/rapid low damage would be his only choices)
- If he did want to make something with elemental counters, there would need to be a reason to justify that. Please correct me but a unit that can counter anything it wants by avoiding fights and mining resources seems a little ratty
It just feels like a specialist jack of all trades which in concept doesn’t sound bad at all, but if there’s any insight I can get on whether or not this would work for any or multiple reasons that would help.
(One idea I came up with but I still don’t know how it would work bc I’m unfamiliar. Instead of all weapons, also add disposable, time limited turrets to provide covering fire from a place you’ve moved from)
Any and all feedback is welcome, the more I can fill him in on the better. Please ask me for absolutely any other details, I can ask him directly and I’ll get an asset back to you as soon as possible!!
