Comforting books like Night by Elie Wiesel
I recently read Night by Elie Wiesel and found it one of the most comforting and relatable books I've ever read.
It showed me my life experiences are still human, even if not conventionally what people experience. It had themes of a loss in faith in God, similar to my own loss of faith in God because I just can't believe in religion after my own life experiences.
The whole book was very affirming and sweet. It absolutely has a place in my heart and I am so glad I read it. I was able to relate to Elie through and through, and I think it is important to remember these works so humanity doesn't forget what absolute suffering is like.
I would like other books similar to Night to read while depressed or in pain. The genre can be anything -- memoir, novel, informational, biography, etc. I just want the book to be a recollection of absolute suffering that shows us an often overlooked side of humanity.
Thank you! <3
