Security business idea

Hello

I am looking at leaving my job ins security and wondered if anyone could give some advice or say if this is a good idea.

I have 16 years in security and law enforcement , I’ve noticed during this time homes burgled , raided , theft from shops increasing , businesses losing money.

I have vast experience and knowledge in crime prevention and target hardening . I have links with other local professionals and also criminal tactics and other law enforcement tactics.

So do you think I could open up a security consultancy helping local people , businesses with my advice on how to reduce crime and protect assets ? Without actually selling the products ? Maybe I could recommend some and get commission ?
