SB County fire

Hey yall. I’m currently an NREMT-P in the military. Looking to move back to central coast and would like to now pursue a career in fire. I’ve been a medic for 6 years- but no real fire experience. I know application windows won’t open till next summer-ish. But anyone able to answer some questions? Anyone prior active duty?
