Best friends need to fake date
Sadly I couldn’t find anything fitting this vibe and Berber read a book with this plot. So I’m hoping to get some good recs here!
I’m looking for a book where the MMC and FMC are best friends or extremely close friends and, for some reason, have to fake date each other. Because they’ve known each other for so long, their fake relationship comes across as especially convincing and natural.
I don’t really care whether one of them or both of them already have feelings for the other. The important thing is that those feelings haven’t been openly acknowledged or discussed beforehand, and they haven’t already kissed or hooked up.
I especially want their physical affection to already be completely normal for them because they’re such close friends..things like cuddling, touching, hugging, sitting close, being affectionate, etc. They should initially assume that any extra closeness or intimacy between them is only happening because they’re fake dating and therefore “doesn’t mean anything.” I want them to keep having to take it one step further to make their relationship look convincing to other people, until suddenly the attraction between them becomes impossible to deny.
I want lots of those classic angsty moments where neither of them knows what is part of the act and what is actually real, with both of them constantly questioning whether the other person feels the same way. Basically, I want the fake dating to slowly blur the line between pretending and reality until they can’t ignore their feelings anymore.
I’d prefer an MMC who is more dominant, and I definitely want plenty of spice. I have no triggers or particular content restrictions. Contemporary romance would be great!
