Trying to change careers, looking for some advice

Advice / Questions

I know the job market is pretty bad right now, and I know changing careers without direct experience isn’t easy. But I’m at the point where I really want to make a change.
I’ve been with the same company for several years. It was actually a great place when I first joined, but as the company grew and management changed, things became quite different. My current role has also become mentally draining and it’s starting to affect my mental health. I’ve reached the point where I genuinely dread going to work, and I know I need to do something different.
My current work is in internal business and systems support. It’s quite broad, I deal with staff support, different business systems, access requests, hardware and software issues, equipment purchases, asset management, vendors, documentation and coordination with different teams.
Before this, I worked in a call centre doing customer service and sales for a few years, then retail for a few years before moving into my current type of work.
I’m currently on $88k, but I’m willing to go down to around $80k if it means getting into a better environment and finding something I can see myself doing long term.
I’m open to pretty much any industry outside of what I’m doing now. I’m looking at things like operations, business support, banking, insurance, procurement, facilities, customer service, or anything where my experience could transfer.
I’m not expecting to walk into a senior role. I just want to know what’s realistic and how I can get my foot in the door somewhere new.
For anyone who’s made a similar career change, what roles did you target and what helped you get that first opportunity?
Just looking for some tips, advice and a bit of encouragement from people who’ve actually made the switch.
