2017 forester 2.5 6spd: suspension, wheels and tires, lightweight flywheels?? so many questions.
We just got back from a 1000 mile road trip and this little car impressed us so much and never once had any issues. I want to return the favor and invest in some upgrades and could use advice and would love to hear some opinions. I’ve gone down the research rabbit hole and have come out more confused. I’d like to increase the off road ability without destroying its drivability. Ideally id like it to be 1” - 1.5 taller with smaller lighter wheels with tires only slightly bigger diameter than stock.
Suspension: I’m interested in the primitive 1.25 heavy duty kit. Would any supporting mods be needed? I saw the rallitek kit comes with all sorts of extra parts I don’t see in this or the Ironman. I’m unsure of the difference in the three or adf is another brand I’ve heard of. Open to any brand I’ve just become interested in primitive because I’m getting there skid plates also.

Wheels and tires: right now I have stock wheels with wild peaks. Id like to get a lighter wheel if possible to offset the extra tire weight as much as possible. I like the idea of a 15” wheel to have more tire sidewall but I’m not sure if that’s too small.
Extras: I read in a forum that a lightweight flywheel helps wake things up a little bit. Anybody know of anything brands or any other small changes that could be made to help this little motor? Air box/ exhaust anything? haha.
Thanks for reading and for any advice given. I’m also looking for a Subaru mechanic in the Bay Area if anyone knows any.
