Just to preface you will NEED to turn your volume up! Not to sound like a jerk but unless you actually hear the humming I don't really want to know that "it's just katydids" or "that's the sound of a jet" because I've heard that before on other subreddits lol. I had to screen record the footage I originally took on Snapchat because...and as much as I hate to admit it ... I used AI to enhance the audio (but that is the ONLY THING I did to "tamper" with it). I really try not to use AI but I was being driven MAD that nobody could hear the damn humming when it sounded so clear and close by in person. Anyway...

I was walking my dog through the woods of New Hampshire and stopped to take in the view at this beautiful little swamp/pond when suddenly I began hearing this very strange humming that sounded eerily like a little girl. I have NEVER heard an animal making such a distinctly human sounding hum, and oddly enough, at one point after it had been quiet for nearly five minutes, I hummed the same two tone "melody" just to see what would happen -- and it hummed right back! I've never heard a frog or a bird sound like that and I'm almost more afraid to believe that it's frog just someone fucking with me so honestly I'm pretty sure this was some sort of paranormal encounter. I've asked Google and it doesn't give me a clear answer as to what kind of animal would make a sound so eerily human. A cuckoo bird is the closest thing, but even then it almost feels like a stretch because it sounds too much like a melodic hum -- something I didn't think any animal could do.

It happens once at about 6 seconds in, again, louder, at 25 seconds after you hear my dog panting for a few moments. There is a pause and you can hear it happen two more times, once at about 50 seconds in (after I pan the camera towards the hill, then you hear me say "what IS that?"), & finally at about 1 minute and 14 seconds right before the video stops. This is far from the only time I heard it though; it went on for about 15 - 20 minutes before completely stopping as abruptly as it started. I just couldn't seem to catch it on camera aside from in the very first video I recorded of it. It always seemed to stop after I began filming so I have like 5 other videos of just crickets and birdsong (which sound DISTINCTLY different from the humming).

Thank you for reading and listening and please give me your thoughts!
