PLS NO SPOILERS - End Game dilemma

Hello, I’ve seen some posts that gave me some clarity, but I want to be absolutely certain so I and my friends don’t lock ourselves out of anything.

TLDR; Can we figure out the White Key function AFTER fully completing the Orb Puzzles?

We completed the Black Tower and made it to the Orb beyond the wall. Clearly a very End Game area, given the vibe and the forced item, colour and verbal comms loss.

We completed one floor/challenge within the Orb and then left because we had started to also fill the Green Room with the 15 buttplug spots and weren’t sure what to do first.

Another friend of mine completed the Orb and told me that he believed once completing the Orb that you are put into a sequence that cannot be stopped and nor can you return to that session or version of the island upon completing the Orb. And thus, he didn’t complete the Green Room.

With that in mind, my group went about and we finished all the buttplug puzzles and filled the Green Room last night and got the White Key.

But now we aren’t sure, do we go to the Orb or figure out the White Key? We’ve looked up 0 guides or info on anything at all thus far.

The only reason I’m posting here in fact, is so that I don’t mess this up and miss out on stuff.

Can we complete the Orb in its entirety, and then go back to figure out where this White Key goes/its function?

Please try to answer without spoiling the ending in any way whatsoever as we’re trying so hard to stay blind but don’t want to miss out on figuring out the White Key by completing the Orb puzzles.
