Having a good experience on Wellbutrin
I recently realized that Adderall had been the most effective anti-depressant I’ve taken even relative to Lexapro, a dedicated SSRI, but did not like the energy crashes, supply shortages, frequent visits, and stimulant reliance.
My hypothesis when starting Wellbutrin was that depression and anxiety were that most significant sources of interference with my ability to focus rather than an inherent disability.
After ditching Adderall 20mg daily and starting Wellbutrin 300mg daily about nine days ago, the effects are subtly becoming apparent. My life just feels cozier and more secure, less like running around with my hair on fire. I don’t have the gut-wrenching attention that could itself be a distraction, but smoother and more comfortable and prolonged attention that feels sustainable.
I work most days and sometimes for long hours so this outlook would suit me better if sustained. I’m also starting to have friendlier interactions with strangers and am starting to realize how cold and shut off I have been with people who aren’t close with me, or sometimes even with those who are.
While I still spend a lot of free time by myself doing sporty activities or reading and writing for school, my outlook seems to be slowly improving. From my perspective, it’s produced a more sustainable outlook than Adderall did and works much better for my depression and anxiety than Lexapro did.
