i wish i never told my parents about having BP

For context I'm 18f living with my parents, currently on day 8 of having Bell's Palsy but I was formally diagnosed on day 6. While I know that's a really late time to get a formal diagnosis, I waited until day 5 to tell my parents about it when complete paralysis on the left side of my face had settled in and I couldn't hide it anymore.

I am a college student attending uni and it doesn't help that my coursework is very demanding at times, plus the fact that my mother is a hypochondriac (who blames my BP on anything and everything that I do) while my father grumbles about the fact that treating BP costs money (meds, PT, all that).

I know that having BP I need to closely monitor my stress levels but my environment doesn't help at all. My parents constantly hover and treat me like I am disabled and they have literally paid this much attention to me before I had BP, so you can understand how overwhelming this constant hullabaloo can be.

I try not to be as worried as they are because panicking helps no one but its their unwillingness to properly research about BP that's stressing me out. I can't do anything without getting a comment about it.

I'm grateful that I got to the doctor (I wouldn't have able to go without my parents' knowledge), as well as the fact that I'm on Prednisone and b complex vitamins but I really wish I just kept it all to myself if telling them would cause this much stress.
