Hot take: pretty privilege isn’t as bizarre as some women say it is

I see women online talking about how they essentially can’t go anywhere or do anything in public without having people approach them or offer them things 24/7. While I certainly think as a general rule of thumb, people (especially men) are nicer to more conventionally attractive women, I think people are exaggerating just how far that treatment goes.

Last night, I had booked tickets to this viewpoint area around sunset time. A lot of people come to this area to take pictures among the buildings and skyline, and grab drinks/food.

There were two EXTREMELY attractive women who had come completely dolled up to take photos. They were likely Korean and seemed to have plastic surgery to have that K-pop “doll” face, extremely slim and tall, and dressed their absolute BEST in heels and tight mini dresses. They were 10s, almost certainly influencers.

There were also plenty of young, single men there with friends. I was alone and had come to people watch and enjoy the view, and I was thinking silently, “I wonder how many guys here will try to hit on them.”

However, as time progressed, no men had approached them. They actually asked a man to take photos of them together, to which he had declined and kind of laughed to his other friend (don’t know what that was about). I actually witnessed the situation and went up to them after offering to take the pictures.

After they took their photos they kind of hung around at the bar for a bit, probably waiting to see if any people would approach them. Again, plenty of groups of young men here, and NONE did! Nobody so much as struck up conversation.

I don’t know if they were intimidated to go up to them, if the environment had anything to do with it, if men are too scared to approach nowadays or what, but these women were complete 10s and came to a flirty atmosphere dressed in their best clothes. Not ONE man tried to talk to them. So I don’t get how some women are saying that they literally cannot even go to a grocery store without being approached and/or hit on.
