What to wear to see hairspray at the playhouse??

Hey bitches ✨ my mom is coming into town for my birthday and we will be seeing hairspray at the playhouse! I’ve never been, so I’m wondering if anyone knows what the vibes are for what to wear?? I’m not a theater girlie so this is not my wheelhouse. I just love hairspray and it’s a special thing my mom and I share so I want to make sure I dress appropriately for the space lmaoooo. My fashion leans more alt/punk but if a need to throw on a dress or a trouser I’m capable, I just don’t know if that’s what the occasion calls for.
