Mason as Michael!

Got to see Mason make his debut as Michael at the matinee today, and it was such a special experience. Mason has a beautiful voice, and physically feels younger on stage then LJ which brought a really interesting and new dynamic to the show! The whole cast was really firing all cylinders today, and the love and support they all have for each other was evident throughout. A few highlights from the show for me:

- Mason got incredible entrance applause, and Shoshana changed the line to be "you just woke up the whole neighborhood!' Which was so cute

- Have to Have you felt SO high energy, you could tell the ensemble was absolutely living for Mason getting to go on!

- Now, Forever was so beautiful with Mason and Maria, their voices harmonized really well together.

- Ali played David softer towards Michael, especially during the bruise scene. It worked really well with how Mason played Michael. Ali has a real gift for changing up his performance to play off the way an understudy approaches a role!

- Mason sounded incredible on Belong to Someone!

- Michael (the song) made me sob, Shoshana was super emotional during it.

- The way Mason sang "I'm where I wanna be and here I'll stay" during home while making his broadway principal debut 😭

At the end of the show after Mason took his solo bow and went to do the family bow, Shoshana and Benjamin gave him a little shove back out to take another solo bow it was so sweet. ​
