Hi everyone,

I recently stumbled upon a YouTube video of Masayoshi Takanaka’s gig at Brixton.

Watching him play "Ready To Fly" 🎸, I was honestly blown away. It actually sounds even better than the original recordings! The crowd was absolutely buzzing 🔥, and it felt like Takanaka was really feeding off that energy of the audience to deliver a peak performance. The whole atmosphere just seemed so upbeat and electric ✨.

For those of you who went to the Brixton or Crystal Palace shows, I’m really eager to hear your firsthand experiences!

Besides "Ready To Fly," which track got the absolute best reaction from the crowd?

What was the vibe like in the venue when he played classics like "Blue Lagoon"?

Takanaka's guitar tone is legendary, but how did the live band (especially the bass and percussion) sound in person compared to the studio albums?

To give you a bit of context, his fanbase here in Japan mostly consists of people in their 60s and 70s. You almost never see 20-something guys like me. Even though I’m not from that generation, his music feels incredibly fresh. Compared to today’s computer-generated, digital tracks, the analog, organic feel and the quality musical vibe of his work just hit differently.

Seeing how wild the UK audience got actually inspired me, and I just bought a ticket to see him live in Hiroshima next February! 🎫

Please share your memories from the London concers—I’d love to read them!

Japanese Gen Z Takanaka fan here! 🎸 Curious about the UK shows (Brixton & Crystal Palace)!
