Choice between 2 Spiritual Paths

So for the past two years I’ve been dealing with a spiritual choice between two paths that I call Adam and Riviera. It all started years ago with a dream of a man suffocating my soul and in the dream my soul was a serpent. I then came to know the man in my dream as the name Riviera. Then Adam came along but in my dreams he’s dark and a shrouded figure that always makes me afraid. Adam is associated with the death card and the king of pentacles. He’s associated with an open eye. Riviera is the king of swords and the magician and he’s associated with a closed eye. I actually no longer read tarot but when I did, these were amongst the cards I got for them. The eye symbolism comes from dreams. Each path makes me feel differently spiritually but I have reason to believe that one of these paths is the true path and the other is a false path meant to trap me spiritually. I’ve been dealing with this for 2 years so I wanted to post and see if anyone has any thoughts on this ? Stuck on who to choose.
