Anyone Else Take Their Toddler Out of Daycare? How Did It Go?

Daycare/Preschool

My daughter is 20 months old, and we recently decided to take her out of daycare so she can stay with Grandma full-time (M–F, 8–4). I also take every other Friday off, so she’ll be home with me those days and any other time I’m not working.

She’s been in daycare since 4 months old and was hospitalized twice last year with RSV, which is what started this whole conversation. My MIL is a retired elementary teacher, and we’ve been discussing this option for a while, so it feels like a really great opportunity for our family. I also love and get along with her amazingly so that’s not an issue.

BUT… I’m an anxious mom 😂 and now I’m worried taking her out of daycare will somehow affect her development or social skills.

Logically, I know she can thrive outside of daycare, but I’d love to hear from parents who have made a similar switch. Has anyone noticed a difference between socially/developmentally between daycare and stay at home kids?
