AMA: Director, HR Technology
It’s a Sunday, and I have some free time. I thought I’d do something I wish I had access to earlier in my career: have an honest conversation with someone who has already experienced a significant part of the corporate journey.
I’m 32 and currently a Director for HRIT. I work with senior leadership and oversee teams, technology, and large-scale HR systems and operations.
I earned my B.Tech from a Tier 3 college that has since closed. I didn’t come from a prestigious college, a strong professional network, or a particularly privileged career starting point.
I managed to progress through the corporate ladder relatively quickly and take on leadership responsibilities much earlier than I anticipated.
This journey has provided me with firsthand experience of what it takes to grow professionally. I’ve learned the importance of choosing the right opportunities, building skills, changing jobs, getting promoted, managing teams, dealing with C-level leadership, navigating corporate politics, handling failures, and staying relevant as you move up the corporate.
I’m not here to pretend I have all the answers. However, after over a decade in the corporate I have accumulated experiences, mistakes, lessons, and opinions to share.
So, if you’re a young professional wondering feel free to ask me anything. Whether it’s career growth, switching jobs, promotions, leadership, workplace politics, skills development, dealing with difficult managers, or figuring out your next move, I’m here to help in ways I can.
Let’s have an open and honest conversation.
