Shadow banned for a viral post

To determine a shadowban, you MUST click my profile!

I was extremely new to reddit (I had made just a few comments on posts in a few groups) and didn't have much Karma. But I made my first post on r/todayilearned about a statistician who worked on validating that random numbers were truly random. The post took off. It got thousands of upvotes and hundreds of comments. I was having fun responding to comments and linking to other comments and I was so excited that there was really a group of people interested in this weird thing.

But then all of a sudden it was like everything broke and I now understand that I was shadow banned. I went from like < 10 karma or something like that to over 3000 because of the post. It was completely organic and unexpected but I guess that's what got me banned. I've tried like a dozen appeals but I think I'm not phrasing it right or something. Does anyone have experience being shadow banned because of a viral post? Did you have any success appealing? How did you phrase your appeal?

I'm sort of miserable about this. I feel like I did something right by having my post get so much attention, but I clearly triggered something and am at a loss as to how to fix it.
