I [25F] love my fiancé [25M], I’m attracted to him, so why don’t I feel anything during sex?
Im looking for some advice because I’m really struggling with this and don’t know what’s normal or what we should be doing differently.
My fiancé (25M) and I (25F) have been together for 5 years and we have two kids. I absolutely love him, I’m attracted to him, and we connect really well in so many other areas of our relationship. He’s genuinely my person, which makes this issue especially difficult for me.
He’s never been able to make me finish during sex. There have been times where he’s gotten me close, but I’ve never actually orgasmed with him. Before having our second baby, sex wasn’t always amazing, but it was still enjoyable and I could feel things.
I’m now 5 months postpartum, and things have gotten significantly harder. Some positions hurt, and sex often just isn’t enjoyable for me. The biggest issue is that I barely feel anything during penetration. And I don’t mean size wise… It’s not that I don’t want him or find him attractive because I do. And for context, we have talked about this before and he has been trying more foreplay etc, and is very generous in the bedroom… I just don’t seem to experience much physical sensation, and I’m starting to feel frustrated and disconnected sexually.
I really want to be able to connect with my fiancé in this way, and I don’t want him to think that I’m not attracted to him or that he’s doing something wrong. At the same time, I don’t want to keep having sex that hurts or feels like something I’m just going through the motions for.
For those who have experienced something similar, especially after having a baby, did things eventually improve? Is there anything we can try to make sex more comfortable and enjoyable? And how did you communicate this with your partner without making them feel inadequate?
I’m open to advice about both the physical/postpartum side of things and the relationship/sexual side. I just want to enjoy intimacy with someone I love.
