Me and the family are thinking of moving back to the motherland

So I was born and raised in the WF9 area of west Yorkshire. I honestly wouldn't have a good idea of it's ok or not now, but we're thinking of moving back to that kind of area. What's good and where to avoid? (I was born in Pontefract)
