It kinda sucks that Michael and Kit both ended up jealous of each other

:105: DISCUSSION

Something I noticed about the later episodes, especially from Everyone Wins to Lock-In, is how Michael and Kit basically end up on opposite sides of the same insecurity.
In Everyone Wins, Kit is clearly jealous of Michael after Jentry chooses Michael instead of him. He starts comparing himself to Michael and saying Michael doesn’t know Jentry the way he does.
But then after Kit dies, Lock-In almost flips it around. Michael brings Kit up during his argument with Jentry and asks if she loved him, and Jentry immediately realizes that Michael feels like he’s competing with Kit.

And honestly, that just makes me sad.
Kit saw Michael as the person who could give Jentry the normal human relationship he couldn’t. Then Michael ends up feeling insecure about Kit because Kit understood this supernatural part of Jentry’s life and literally died saving her.

Neither of them really needed to compete with each other, and Jentry herself clearly didn’t want to be treated like something they had to win.
I kinda wish Kit had survived partly because it would’ve been interesting to see Michael and Kit eventually get past that jealousy and actually understand each other.

Does anyone else see their dynamic this way?
