ACMEGRADE TRAINING AND INTERNSHIPS is Scam?

Review 📝

My classmate shared an internship/bootcamp opportunity in our WhatsApp group. Some people joined, including me, so yesterday I also filled out their form for the AI internship.

After that, the group admin called me and started explaining everything:

  • You’ll get a certificate from IIT Delhi
  • IIT Delhi mentors will teach you
  • You’ll get an internship experience
  • You can apparently get a stipend of up to ₹15,000 after completing the winter internship

Everything sounded pretty good until the final part.

He said I had to pay ₹1,000 registration fee TODAY.

Then there was another ₹2,500–₹3,500 (I don't remember the exact amount) that I would have to pay once the internship started.

He also said that if I referred a friend, I would get ₹300 off.

So I referred a friend, but he already declined the offer.

Then the admin called me again and started asking why we were joking around and whether I actually wanted to register or not.

I simply said no.

He got pissed and started asking why I had filled out the form in the first place. I told him that I had only filled it out to check the opportunity and asked him to simply delete my details from their backend.

That apparently made him even more angry.

Then he started saying things like he has connections in the main campus DDU, that he has my information including my name and email, and that I could be banned from campus placements, etc.

I honestly didn't argue with him. I just stayed calm and said nothing.

But the way he handled the situation really pissed me off.

If this is a legitimate internship opportunity, why threaten a student just because they declined the opportunity.

Now I'm thinking of finding out exactly what this organization is and whether the IIT Delhi claims, certificate, mentors and stipend they're advertising are actually legitimate.

Has anyone else experienced something like this?
