BTU Cottbus – Experience with relinquishing/deferment of an admission?
Hi everyone,
I’ve been accepted to BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg for the Winter Semester 2026/27 for the Master’s Programme in MSc Artificial Intelligence.
Due to circumstances outside my control, I may not be able to start the programme in the semester I was admitted for. BTU has advised me that, in this situation, I can relinquish my university place and renew my admission for a later intake which is Summer Semester 2027.
They explained that I would not need to apply through Uni-Assist again and could instead apply through myBTU using my previous admission letter, after which they would issue a new admission.
I’m mainly looking for first-hand experiences with BTU’s process in such cases.
If anyone has previously had to relinquish their place and renew/defer their admission at BTU Cottbus, I’d really appreciate knowing:
- How smooth was the process of relinquishing and renewing your admission?
- Did BTU issue the new admission without any major complications?
- Did anything change with your admission or conditions when you reapplied?
I’d especially appreciate responses from current students or alumni who have personally gone through this process.
Thanks!
