A question about one-tricking

Currently silver, sai onetrick. I basically instalock every game n i do pretty well, but apparently i’m supposed to know a minimum of 2 characters. I was thinking of learning peni but im scared of being shit at sai after spending too much time on another character. Does this happen or am i overthinking?
