Hacked WhatsApp

My WhatsApp has been getting blocked continuously from the 24th August when I first used browser WhatsApp on Firefox(on Fedora). Every time it gets blocked, the pfp changes to someone else. I turned on 2FA which includes my email, and the following day received a message from an unknown number on WhatsApp which I blocked and reported. For about a week  my  account stopped getting “hacked” until today. I see no suspicious activity on my email and ran tests on my laptop that came back negative for any malware on it. Is this an issue with my phone number? My bank account and other mobile services seem to be intact, and I strongly believe they didn’t get access to my email. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Should I just get a new number?
