Ferber trained baby can’t settle independently after MOTN feeds

Hi all. We started Ferber ST 3w ago, baby is just 5m. Gone from 45m-1hrly night wakes to 2-3 wakes, generally following 5/3/3hrly night feeds.
In the last 3 days have moved to 3 naps. I’ve had to really work hard on the naps/schedules every day as still get some nights of crying++ to settle and tbh it has been utterly exhausting.
Now struggling with MOTN wakes- some nights after feed I’ll burp and keep upright (reflux) and he falls asleep on my shoulder straight away, I then transfer to crib.
Some nights he doesn’t fall asleep but 20mins passes so I put him back in the crib but he can’t settle to sleep, he cries++ and last night I tried leaving for 1h before I caved and picked him up as he’d essentially been awake 1h30 with the feed before that and was escalating crying.
I’m worried thinking baby is trained for initial settled to sleep when very tired but then not for MOTN and relies on fed/suck to sleep. How to best fix this?

Do you all put baby down fully awake after a night feed? Did it take some time/crying/ further training to achieve them falling asleep after one?
