I was very happy with it, particularly with the keyboard (I’m very sensitive to noise and like the slim design and the feel of the keys). It doesn’t have to be an Asus, but it needs the same keyboard in terms of feel – quiet and smooth to the touch – with a German keyboard layout (DE-QWERTZ). Backlit chiclet keys, 1.1–1.7 mm key travel, Precision Touchpad. Generally, I’d prefer a design without high-contrast keys (e.g. black keys on a silver laptop). Ideally, it should be a single solid colour.
I need an HDMI port, a USB-C charging cable, a headphone jack and at least two USB-A ports. The laptop is for university, work and watching films; I often have lots of tabs open. I don’t usually play games on it. A long battery life (ideally 8 hours) is important, and it shouldn’t be too heavy.
A display like the one on the Asus VivoBook S435E would be fine – 14–16 inches. Please keep the weight to a maximum of 1.5 kg, or lighter if possible. Windows and an Intel Core processor, as I need to work with SPSS, so a Snapdragon processor would be problematic. Otherwise, I use Office, Teams, Zoom, etc. The fan should be quiet. 16–32 GB RAM and a 512 GB to 1 TB SSD.
I’d be incredibly grateful for any help I can get. I’ve seen countless offers online, have already contacted three specialist shops (who then simply asked me to enter my details on their website), and on the phone, there was a willingness and ability to help me.
Now I’m hoping there’s a knowledgeable expert out there on the internet who can help me with my question and come to my rescue. A thousand thanks in advance to everyone who takes the trouble to read this and reply.
