Feel so down all the time at 25
I’ve been struggling a lot recently and I feel so down all the time. On paper, I have a successful career, nice apartment, friends, went to law school, yet I feel so completely unsuccessful and like a complete loser. I don’t know what to do anymore.
My job is so slow right now and I have nothing to do, but I feel like I can’t complain because it pays me so well and it’s an exceptionally well-respected profession. It doesn’t really give me any satisfaction at the moment - I feel like I spend all day doomscrolling, which is terrible for my mental health. I’ve tried to stop doing that by learning French, doing sudoku, anything to stop me scrolling.
My social life also kind of feels like it’s in the shitter as a lot of my friends have moved away, just naturally lost touch, so I’m not as social as I once was. I think I hang out with about five people. Not having plans makes me feel like complete trash.
I also live abroad, which I have a complex relationship with; I love living abroad, yet I’ve recently come to the realisation that I don’t particularly like the city I live in. I’d move elsewhere but the job market is so brutal that I feel I can’t leave.
I’m just wondering if anyone else has gone through something similar/how they were able to get themselves out of this hole. I just feel like I spend a lot of my time crying, while feeling so ungrateful that I can’t be happy with what I have.
