I just got my likely ADHD diagnosis as a 29F and now I’m looking at everything from my life so far…was this potentially one of the signs?
I just got my suspected ADHD diagnosis from my doctor last week. She started me on a very low dose of Vyvanse and while I think we will need to increase it, I’m starting to feel better than I have in a very long time. I could cry I feel so hopeful.
But now I’m looking back at my life to see what could have been potential signs and I’m curious if anyone has ever dealt with this. If I think of something I want to buy or a new house project I want to DIY, I literally CANNOT think of anything else until I do it. My brain will be in a constant loop of thinking about it and once I nag and nag and nag my husband, I will either buy it or do the project, and abandon everything else just to do it. I cannot control the impulse and everyone else struggles around me because I can’t talk about anything else. This is similar to a chore - if I’m out and we need to flip the laundry because we need the clothes for later, I will tell my husband 5 times and set so many reminders (like for every 5 minutes) because I am always forgetting things. I’ve always just thought this was normal and everyone gets obsessed with things.
There were a lot of other coping mechanisms and things I struggled with, but was this potentially a sign?
