The Death of Slim Shady is inoffensive.
The whole concept of the album is that Slim Shady is showing off his final form, being controversial for the sake of it and doing it over the top, and yet the lyrics are just lukewarm and safe edgy. Every topic he dares to touch he keeps to the minimum, and it's really disappointing. He makes fun of little people, which was barely a conversation decades ago, it sure as hell isn't anymore. He makes fun of trans women, but almost exclusively through namedropping Caitlyn Jenner, who is close to hitting 80 and has been old news for years. He drops two "r words", rape and retarded. Only problem is the word rape was never a slur, or offensive in any capacity, it's literally just a word like any other. Retarded is somewhat divisive at least, but it's still one of the more commonly used and accepted terms. There is a very small group of people who find issue with its casual usage but most people have no problem with using it as a synonym of stupid. So here is what could've made the Slim Shady character shady and slim. Update the references, both name drops and slurs. Have actually controversial takes, and politically incorrect views. And if he really wants to go the extra mile, drop a hard-r somewhere in the album, see what happens. I'm not saying the album is bad, afterall it was written by Em, it's gonna sounds good (mostly) and have bars (every now and again), but the potential of Shady going out with a bang is wasted terribly. Also I have no clue what Temporary and Somebody Save Me are doing on this album, they should've been singles or something, they have very little to do with anything on this album. Also also Tobey is one of the cringiest things Em has ever written/produced and it's pretty much solely because of the Star Wars references being baked into its very core.
