Is it better to post as a series or as one long fic?

I have a fic series on ao3 with two fics, one leading directly into the other and both 3 chapters long. I have more planned for the story so what I want to know is, as a reader, is it annoying to have to click through to a new fic or bookmark a series/multiple fics or would you prefer to read one longer fic with multiple time skips.

The time skips thing is what makes me think there should be more fics in the series rather than add to what is a somewhat completed story already (has unanswered questions and what not). I think for flow and pacing reasons it works better to break it up but idk how long what I have planned will end up being or how many more chapters it will take up.

Maybe I am just feeling insecure but would like to know what people think about fic series in general :D
