HELP ME FIND THE TITLE OF A BOOK!

Hello,
I'm trying to find the title of a book, here’s what I remember about the story:
A young guy from a foster home living in the north of France is going to steal a sailboat to head to Canada on a journey that lasts a year and a half.
Does anyone have a lead?
Thanks in advance!
