You might be wondering, but this was also inspired by a series of works in the vein of Yasuji Tanioka’s \*Bellobeeman\*. In one episode, a half-naked CEO opens a window and starts sunbathing his lower abdomen while looking out, when a “regular employee” from another building confronts him, saying, “Just having an idiot next door is distracting,” and a nonsensical back-and-forth ensues. ※ True to my motto of “Creating more songs that are easy to sing and remember at karaoke”—this one lives up to the name. “The Desperate Octopus CEO”

One day, it suddenly occurred to me

that I should stop all pointless efforts, every last one of them.

But, well,

I can’t just blurt that out like that.

I have to refrain from such rash actions.

Given my position,

after all, I am the CEO, aren’t I?

Actually, I’d had a vague inkling

that my regular clients were trying to cut me loose.

Well, if I just gave them a discount,

I might just be able to get through it.

But then I’d have to cut back on my drinking, gambling, and child support.

“Are you a monster?”

Don’t give me that. I’m the president, after all.

I’ve worked here for 20 years straight.

Give me five years off starting tomorrow.

Otherwise, I want five times my salary.

By the way, you over there with the bare skin—yes, you, you—

How about it? Want to go out with me? Huh? No way?

What’s that supposed to mean?

I am, after all, the president here.

Workers always have it rough.

And business owners are ruthless.

I’m a business owner, but I have it rough too.
