A Perspective from a Warden Commander Pt. 2
I made a post awhile back explaining the details of the Warden Winstreak that occurred over 1.5 years, along with a bit of insight of what happened throughout those wars. But I just wanted to raise a point again as the game I have enjoyed for years “as both a Colonial/Warden” is now in a difficult state.
Engagement on Criticism
For many I believe it’s the fact their grips/issues have gone unanswered for years. And instead of engaging with those grips/issues to see if there is validity in those criticisms, most folks are just given nothing “not even a response to the criticisms”.
How Changes are Implemented
For others it’s the way changes are done in Foxhole, regardless if something is implemented wrong the player base are still forced to endure it for weeks or months. We saw in W126 with the SC changes and the stalemate it brought for 70 days, we also saw it in W124 with the Shotgun overtune that was done. While the devs may acknowledge that was the unintended outcome, the player base still had to endure/suffer the implemented changes and in some cases what were “obvious failures” for weeks or even months
Lack of Communication
There is nothing to say on their part there is no communication. There are sparse conversations that happen every so often usually around Devbranch to answer random questions, but consistent meaningful engagement to the player base is nonexistent. So when players hate “the way things are implemented” and have “valid criticisms” they have to hope they are heard and if not then we see the answer playing out each war now. “People just don’t engage”
The Result
I have seen more people retire/quit this game in the last 4 wars than the previous 2-3 years combined. I currently believe if nothing is done to solve these fundamental problems then I don’t think Foxhole is going to be capable of being enjoyable anymore for many. “Which we are already seeing play out now”
